About

About Sublime Pantry

Sublime Pantry exists for two overlapping groups of people: home freeze-drying enthusiasts who want every batch to come out right, and cottage sellers who are turning a freeze dryer into a small, legal, profitable food business.

The name comes from sublimation — the physical process at the heart of freeze-drying, where ice turns directly into vapor under vacuum without ever becoming liquid. That's also how we try to write: no soggy middle.

What we cover

Six things, deliberately narrow: machine decisions, batch troubleshooting, food-specific drying knowledge, storage that lasts, packaging, and the economics and rules of selling freeze-dried food from home.

How we work

Every article cites its sources, distinguishes what's documented from what's judgment, and says plainly when we haven't tested something ourselves. Oureditorial standards andreview methodology spell this out in detail. Research is AI-assisted; every published page is reviewed and approved by a human editor before it goes live, and corrections are logged on ourcorrections page.

How this site makes money

Right now, it doesn't — there are no ads, no affiliate links, and nothing for sale. As the site grows we may add clearly disclosed affiliate relationships and, eventually, our own products for cottage sellers. When that happens, every commercial relationship will be disclosed next to the recommendation it touches, not buried on a policy page. See our affiliate disclosure.

Ownership

Sublime Pantry is an independent publication. If it ever sells a product that appears in a comparison, that ownership will be disclosed prominently on the comparison itself.
